Seeds and Fruits

New year, new goals. End of the year and I am already hearing people saying that 2010 was not the year they expected and that the targets were not met. Of course we do not have everything under our control, but often the lack of success can come because of our own decisions. To me, 2010 was the year of the greatest achievements of my life. It was the year of harvest of fruits produced by seeds planted in 2009 and several years past, regarding to study and relationships.

Because of that I realize 2011 and subsequent years are not predestined to be good, but they are waiting for our decisions and choices. Generally, where you are today is a reflection of your decisions. It is very common to blame the lack of opportunities, but often they come, and because our decision of not prepare ourselves, we cannot embrace them. This year, choose not to waste the opportunities that arise. If you have intelligent people at your disposal, extract as much knowledge as possible. If you have moments with friends, extract the greatest joys and form the best memories. If you meet unique people, form eternal bonds.

In addition, I realized something else: time does not play the role of offering wisdom or life experience, but if offers circumstances in which we can use to acquire this wisdom. Experience is not what happens to a person, but what he will do with what happens to him. That's why you see so many adults immature and unprepared to exercise their citizenship, their social function and their role as a parent. If you think life will teach you how to live and that your role is simply wait passively for that to happen, wake up to reality.

With all that, I hope this year we can come to understand that harvests come because of seeds. Do not expect 2011 to be a good year, make it good. Plant seeds and wait for the fruits. May you also accept the responsibility of your decisions, because usually you harvest what you sowed. Learn that not all the seeds will produce the fruits that they should, but get used to it. In our eyes, life is not fair, and the sooner you understand this the better. If you expect 2011 to be a different year, start It differently.
